About Kat

Hi! I am Kat, a plant spirit guide, ceremonialist, and earth arts practitioner. As a lover of the Great Earth Mother my work centers around nature based practices, ceremony, ritual and rites of passage.

My work is informed by many years on the path of ancestral healing arts and over 15 years walking with the Andean and Amazonian wisdom traditions as a lifelong student and facilitator. I work at the intersection of worlds in ally ship with original wisdom holders. I bridge worlds, lineages and cultures, bringing ancient wisdom into modern life. My offerings sit at the intersection of body and earth.

Complimenting my lineage studies my offerings are steeped in years of personal experience. From communing with directly with the plants right outside my front door to many years practicing and studying yoga.

This space is for returning to and honoring yourself so that you may show up as your greatest expression in the world. There are things on your life journey that cannot be understood by the rational mind but must be lived, felt and expressed. I am here to support you in navigating, sense making, and creating with your journey between the seen and unseen.

My journey began at 18 as a high performance athlete with a big injury and deepened at 20 with a second injury that changed the direction of my life. Many questions arose around health, wellness, and a meaningful life path. These inquiries led me on an ongoing exploration through ancient cultures and wisdom ways, ultimately re-connecting me with my ancestral energies and intuitive knowing.

This exploration included 10 years living in South America with immersive dives into self in Amazonian communities and digging in the soil alongside Andean women, the keepers of unwritten knowledge. I spent many years working at the interface of food, farming, and social justice in California, Europe and the Andean region of Peru, eventually committing to a path of ceremony, ritual, and teaching. I continue my lifelong studies along the way with my respected mentors and guides.

I design immersive experiences through courses, workshops, retreats, and one-on-one personalized journeys centered on connecting people with nature and their innate wisdom. Offerings meet you where you are, taking the form most needed and are rooted in folk herbalism, ancestral earth arts, Amazonian and Andean medicine traditions, yogic philosophy, intuitive movement, plant spirit work, creative channel work and music.

Together we walk along the path of the Wise Woman, weaving between the seen and unseen realms. From soil to soul and back again.

Earthen Body is...

Rooted in Reciprocity: This project is rooted in reciprocity with the traditions, lineages, landscapes, human and the more than human world with which we work and this concept is at the forefront of all my work. A percentage of profits from this work goes towards projects in direct support of Amazonian cultural legacies each year.

Real Connection: Each call, session, and offering is rooted in intention, presence, and connection. Earthen Body is an invitation to explore the depths of your being and to be held by the soft embrace of Mother Earth along the journey.

Grounded in Experience & Vision: Born of many years of explorations, studies and initiations this is an invitation to harmonize, the Earth being the bridge that connects us all. It is an invitation and a vision for a world rooted in love, compassion, reciprocity, and peace.

Uplifts Creative Expression: Art and creativity are the essence of life and how we make sense of the world, create connection and inspire change.

Together we...

Tend the Vessel
Tune the Instrument
Celebrate the Vision
Support Unique Expression
Amplify Creations of Collective Harmony

The Winding Road

Learn More About Kat's paths of work and study

Ancestral Medicines + Alma y Tierra
For over 15 years Kat has walked the plant medicine path through her ongoing studies and work alongside original wisdom holders of Amazonian and Andean medicine traditions. She has undergone many initiations including long stays in the Amazon Rainforest and master plant dietas. What began as a personal exploration of global ancestral healing traditions, environmental activism, and plant initiations turned into a passion to amplify the messages of some of these cultures and wisdom ways. In 2019 she co-founded Alma y Tierra Retreats, an organization that hosts her own facilitation as well as retreats and cultural immersions with wisdom holders from the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon. In 2025 she co-founded the non-profit Alma y Tierra to formalize this work uplifting and supporting cultural legacies in the Amazon Rainforest.
Yogic Path
Yoga was Kat's entry into the path of ancestral healing arts at the age of 17. She is a certified Path of Light Ashtanga Yoga Teacher under the guidance of Master Teacher Diana Christinson. Her yogic path informs the ritual, intuitive movement and breath woven into offerings.
Folk Herbalism
Through farming Kat fell in love with the wild, medicinal weeds. Andean women opened her the world of medicinal plants and the dynamic, reciprocal ways of working with these allies for physical and spiritual healing. This led to her path with master plants and many years on the ground learning both directly from the plants and from traditional herbalists in-person on farms from the US to Europe to the Andes and deep into the Amazon Rainforest. She is also a graduate of the School of the Sacred Wild. In 2020 Kat opened Yarrow Resilience Institute to offer herbal blends (Yarrow Botanicals) and immersive experiences with plants.
Musical Path
The plant path opened the world of art and music for Kat. More than write music, she receives from the more than human world. Her music is primarily offered in ceremonial settings.
Social Change
Social change is an impulse for this work and the desire to co-create a world rooted in harmony and peace through equitable access to healing, joy and spaces of creative inspiration.
Farming & Permaculture
Kat's green journey began in Berkeley working at school garden projects and studying a minor in agroecology. Her fascination with food systems and the social implications of food access along with the environmental impact of conventional food systems began a lifelong journey. She worked alongside high altitude Andean farmers of Peru in a non-profit social change project, at a social justice educational farm along the central coast of California and in an educational community garden in Denmark, along with many work and travel visits to permaculture farms around the world. She holds a certificate in Permaculture Design from the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center. This background informs how she works. The world of land based work led her deeper into her work in the inner landscape of self.
